Do you have a Weird or Speculative Fiction Short Story or Novella?
Submit your cross-genre works to Morbid Ink
I’m looking to promote new writers/creators and their stories. If you have a site, campaign or just an ongoing series, send me your pitch so I can add your links/campaigns for your work to this site. A private note in substack to me is just fine to start the conversation so I can give you more details.

Also, if you have a short story and/or illustrations fitting in the style of strange/weird fiction, I’d like to add it to this substack site (under the Indie Stories Page). I’m interested in various subgenres and crossover work in the areas of Cyberpunk, Steampunk, Dark Fantasy, Horror, Fantasy, Magical Realism, Myth, Folklore, Surrealism, Slipstream, and Weird Fiction. So, if you have something you’d like to promote/show, let’s chat via substack.
For those following this blog, you know that I’m trying to put Morbid Ink out every two months to showcase the works of talented authors/illustrators/creators. In the vein of current Japanese light novels (and early 20th century pulp magazines), I envision each story having illustrations outlining characters and/or situations within the stories.
Plus, I will incorporate short stories into an upcoming digital magazine (called Morbid Ink) in the near future. Terms for published stories includes payment for One-Time Rights for the magazine only.
Here are some examples from the past with talented illustrators doing inside work in the stories. My goal is to incorporate this same style into Morbid Ink Magazine with the stories of those submitting their work. If you’re unfamiliar with old magazines like Weird Tales, The Shadow, or others, I invite you to look over Pulp Net’s website for interesting reading about the history of the magazines.
As the goal is to promote writers/illustrators/creators, I use regular social media outreach to help build an audience. I hope you will join me in this endeavor.
If you have ideas or comments, please send me a note.
Sure, send over a note with the particulars and I'll add it to the creators as well as tweet it.
Hello! I got a campaign now live on Kickstarter, and if you want I'd like to submit my work! Thank you in any case!
