After a lot of deliberation, I’ve decided to expand and change this substack to focus more on speculative fiction stories to include both writers and illustrators. For those who followed this site, it is a change but I hope a good path.
Goals
First, I want this substack page to remain a showcase for independent creators. One of the things which came to light over the past year was my failure to keep up with this page since I split my time between writing novels and creating comics. I’ve found that I’m not the only one who runs into this issue on a daily basis. So, I’ve decided to combine this page to incorporate some of the work of new writers who produce short stories, web novels, and comics into a single place.
After reading more than a few speculative fiction magazines from the 1920s/30/40s along with light novels, it’s clear the format they carry is perfect for such a showcase. Which brings me to the second point.
I want Morbid Ink to become a modern digital showcase for new writers in the same way that Argosy, Amazing Stories, Weird Tales, and Black Mask combined stories and illustrations to their magazines in the last century.
I’ll be putting out several stories to kick this off along with illustrations. I hope you will join me.
